SHADOW OF SPRING

The existential shadow lengthens in spring not from the sun, but from the fear that nothing has changed in winter except the date on the calendar. We look for meaning in budding flowers, afraid to admit it.: They're just doing their job, and we'll have to pretend again that we know why we woke up.
